About Fairfield Metropolitan Housing Authority (FMHA)

Our 96 HUD-subsidized public housing rental units are well maintained and fully occupied (consistently over 98%), providing safe, affordable housing to low income residents. FMHA has received HUD's High Performer rating each year under the Public Housing Management Assessment Program (PHMAP) and the Public Housing Assessment Program (PHAS).

The Fairfield Metropolitan Housing Authority closed the Housing Choice Voucher Program Waiting List on September 30, 2012.

Mission Statement

The Fairfield Metropolitan Housing Authority is dedicated to serving the needs of low and moderate income families in Fairfield County and to:

- increase the availability of decent, safe, sanitary, and affordable housing in our community;
- ensure equal opportunity in housing;
- promote self-sufficiency and asset development of families; and,
- improve community-wide quality of life and economic vitality in cooperation with other agencies, developers, and individuals.
